Making some progress!

It’s been a little while since I updated my blog, and because I have been busy working on the pottery (and showing some relatives around Brighton), I figured it was time to come back and share my creations so far!Β

When I glazed my first round of pots, I found out how differently each glaze works: some are thinner and runnier, other are thicker and dry faster. I also realised why they say that some are to be used to paint, whilst others are to dip the pot straight in.

Being the stubborn person that I am, I though I could just ‘make it work’, but I quickly realised that was not the case.

I ordered more glazes (originally I had just two to work with) and tested them out.

I obviously have still a ton to learn, as – for example in this pot up here – you can see how the pink glaze turned blue.

I felt like that only added to the pot, so it worked out perfectly, but it’s good to always keep in mind that since I’m inexperienced, the glaze I apply may not turn out as expected.

This pot, which I named Creep due to it’s intense staring, pulled out the blue drips as it made it look as if it was sweating – adding to the weirdness.

I was very surprised to see that lots of you actually wanted me to still make some more ‘messy’ looking bowls, so I did. Yet I believe even in these, you can see some differences from my very first batch – which is good! Let’s say that the mess is now somewhat more on purpose, hehe.

And so I made a few small bowls; but also added plant pots, which I didn’t have before as I wasn’t able to make pots big enough to hold plants.

I know this post feels like I’m giving myself a pat in the back, but I am very happy with seeing progress with my creations.

You guys are being super supportive – as usual – so thank you all so much!

These new candles and pots were up on the shop for just a few minutes before they were all gone, so I’m very motivated to make lots more!

I also hear you about the cart issue (some of you wait to get something, to then add the product but it gets taken away the second someone is faster at checking out). I will reach out to some more experienced people to see if they can help me with adding a feature to stop that from happening.

On another note, I do have some prints available in the shop! When I printed these, they ended up costing a lot. I selected some amazing paper, which may be why they costed me a lot to produce, but if any of you know of good printing companies, please let me know, as I would love to make some prints every once in a while, but if I could make them more affordable, that would be ideal!

Anyway, I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! I’m going to pack up all the orders now and then enjoy a chill evening watching Atypical (season 2 is out and I’ve been loving iiiiiitttt!).

Just love these! I hope you find encouragement from everyone and continue to make more. I think the demand for these is crazy high!

It’s too bad that the reason they’re so special is because you make them each on your own–maybe in the future you could consider finding a way to get your favorites reproduced so more people could buy them too πŸ™‚

I think “creep” is probably my favorite!

They are sooooo cute! Very sad I keep missing the restocks since I’m in the west coast in the USA! They are the cutest and it inspired my boyfriend and I to take a pottery class, so we are researching places nearby!

You are doing a great job, and it’s so nice to see progress, that’s why the phrase “practice makes perfect” exists, because it’s true! πŸ™‚ great job Marzia!

Hi Marzia, seeing how you always find ways to learn new things and stick to it like pottery has motivated me to also try out new things. I’m hoping to also do handmade items and sell them with success. Wish me luck!

Also, I loved Atypical! I binged watched it in 2 days and loved it! I can’t wait for Season 3, if it’s renewed.. I’ll be crossing my fingers πŸ˜€

Hi, Marzia! I’m so happy you came back here πŸ™‚
I love your pottery, it looks extremely cute! I tried pottery this summer and I fell in love with that, I made progress so fast. That’s why I want to buy the machine and start making some business maybe? Let’s inspire eachother, right? πŸ˜€
Good luck and keep it up!

Hey, this isn’t me starting all over again, don’t worry. I think your pots are actually really interesting. I saw your little video of the moon and Saturn, I just thought how amazing it is. I’m going for a bike ride later, somewhere where I will be able to see the stars. I know you never really understood where I was coming from, like why I acted the way I did, and I am sorry.

Hi Marzia! I’m glad to know you are doing fine πŸ™‚
The more I look at photos of your pots the more I fall in love with them. THEY ARE FREAKING CUTE *-* I wish I could have them all, they would cheer my day at just one glance :’)

I love Atypical! I’m so glad to see it doing so well. It’s got such a great cast and so many awesome characters. It’s rare these days to find a show that is so generally positive and makes you feel good as you walk away.

Also, I love your little plant pots! I have literally no need for them but I hope to buy some one day when I finally have my own home. The little noses that jut out are my favorite ❀

The pots look amazing, and I love how they reflect your “weird” but cute side of personality, it just makes them that much unique. ^-^
Can’t wait to see your future creations for MaΓ¬, you are inspiring me to become more creative too!

I love your pots! I really hope I’ll be able to buy one of them next time before they’re gone ^^’
If that’s not possible, well you’ve inspired me to paint my own pots. I can’t make them “messy” like yours but I can make them more charming… so thanks for the inspiration ❀

Do you know when the jewellery will be restocked? I've saved up for the notte necklace for a while now and I don't want to miss it if you produce it again (which I hope you do! I truly love that necklace).

    Love, Klara

    Dear Marzia,

you are discrediting real artists by selling your unfinished kindergarden crafts without even thinking about it.
Why not give your trials away for free? are you too greedy? Please stop using your shallow hobbys for profit and try to invest properly in a passion, soon you’ll be 30 and all you got is a marriage to someone who is actually hard working and not milking 12 year olds

you should hook up on your gossip site again to get some proper insight, might help you

Why do you have to bring someone down for having a different art style than you prefer? It is obvious from all of the positive feedback on this site that people truly love her work. There may be some that don’t like it, but disagreements do not warrant such bitter, disgusting behavior that you just exhibited. It is shameful that you felt that you needed to attack her for her art style. Please reconsider your words and if you must critique, do so in a mature fashion.

Oh also unfortunately Marzia can marry who she wants. Such a shame, otherwise I would of clubbed her and dragged her back to ma cave…

My apologies Marzia, I didn’t mean to add to the ridiculous drama. I heard that negativity affects us more than positivity, and perhaps on the internet that is true.
