An update.

After many months of renovations, the time has come!

I’m not focusing too much on the design aspect of the flat just yet, but I am going to give you a quick update as I haven’t been on here as much as I would have liked, lately.

So here we go!

As you know, I have been in Japan for about 10 days. We usually leave the dogs with a dog-sitter, and put lots of trust on her (she never gave us reason not to feel comfortable with her looking after the dogs) but unfortunately – this time – when we got back Maya acted strange: I knew immediately that something was wrong.

I was recovering from the flu, and Felix was about to get sick, but we went to the emergency and were told Maya had two eye ulcers and could easily lose her eye if we didn’t leave her overnight for intensive treatment. So we did, and picked her up the day after.

She was extremely nervous, and didn’t want to eat or move. She was in a lot of pain, and for a few days there I had a very hard time. I kills me to see her in pain.

But all I could do was follow the medicine schedule: every 1 hour and 30 minutes I had 6 different medicines to give her, all 10 minutes apart. All day and night long.

Life stopped. I couldn’t care about anything else at that time, and did my absolute best to look after Maya.

After the weekend we saw a specialist that told us on a case like this, surgery would be done right away, but because of her age, and the other conditions her eye has (which we were already treating), Maya isn’t the ideal candidate.

So all we can do is continue with the medicines – thankfully not as many as before, so I can have a life and get some sleep – and be extremely careful.

I’m happy to say that now she is eating as normal, walking outside (she is still a bit afraid, but it will get better) and she is very playful.

Whilst all of this was happening, I had to keep up with work, but I’m so glad I have such an amazing team on my side that helps me every step of the way.

For my summer clothing line, we are currently sourcing fabrics. These up here are just a small selection of swatches, but as you can see, I’m looking for stripes, and a black/white/pink colour palette.

Since moving back into the ‘new’ flat, I’ve been scanning through clothes and makeup, trying to cut down what I don’t need.  I actually came across two small boxes I was putting aside to do a giveaway, so I’ve added some products to those, and now that they are fully packed, I can show them to you!

There are far too many products to describe, but both have Tarte concealers, some Pretty Vulgar bits, a few skincare items, my pop sockets, and t-shirts.

The giveaway is now closed, thanks to all the people that joined. You know by now that new giveaways will come soon! 😉

Here are the two winners:

    Welcome back Marzia!

Aww its so sad to hear that Maya got sick! I hope she gets well soon! Its always hard to see when your pets get sick and you cant do much to make them be better except the medicine.
The bedroom looks amazing! I like how simple it is without too many items and the white colour makes it so spacey!
Cant wait to see your new summer line :)!!!

Anyway, I hope Maya get well at all soon, and I’m happy that she has a careful and loving mommy to take care of her. I hope you are better too, as you said in your past post that you has flu coming back from Japan.

Hi Marzia~ I’ve been a long time fan of yours a Felix’s, and I just recently found your blog!!! I have to ask, mostly because of how much I love the piece, but where did you get your bed frame/platform?! My boyfriend and I have been frame shopping for months, and when he saw it as I was reading the blog, he stopped me so he could see it, it’s just so beautiful!

Glad Maya is doing better btw!

    Dear Marzia,

I am sure you won’t read this or notice it at all, but I feel at ease pretending like you do. I need advice.. or some kind words… my dog is 13 years old.. and i had to bring her to the hospital last night and had to be face with the realist news and it was that she is old… and she has hit that time in her age and life where surgery is no longer an option because of high risk and medication is what she will need just so she can be comfortable, it won’t stop the inevitable. Eye ulcer, degenerative disk disease, heart murmur, and collapsed trachea. All at once, this doctor is telling me that the idea of death and decay is starting… and that there is no given time for when she could be worse or pass away. I don’t live with her and all i keep thinking about is what if she dies and I am not there. What if she is in pain and is alone and I am not there. She is my life and my best friend. I have had her for 13 years and we have grown old together and it sucks because dogs grow older faster. I am scared and sad, I just don’t want to lose my dog.. but I know I will and even if I knew when, I guess that wouldn’t help either. I wish I had more time.. or knew how much was left… I can’t bear to think of a day when I visit and she isn’t there, barking and running towards me with her big eyes. I’ve never heard her cry before… we hear dogs whine.. but never cry. When she saw me after they brought her back and when I held her, she cried. I tried my best to hold in my tears because we both knew our goodbye will come soon and I didn’t get to grow old with her.. I don’t know why I am writing this.. it doesn’t seem like anyone is taking it seriously or cares.. but I am scared.. and i wish i stopped crying, but it’s all that I can think about and feel… I love my dog so much.. I don’t know what to do without her…

    A fan.. Sorry to bother.

    Hi Marzia,

I love your blog and your videos on Youtube! And that bedroom! WOW, amazing! I have a question about the white closet with the sliding doors. Where is it from? I’m moving to my very first own apartment this year and need a closet and something like yours would be perfect!
    Hoping to hearing from you!
    Lots of Love ❤
