At home, sick.

I took this photo yesterday at sunset. I love it when the clouds are pink.

On Tuesday evening my throat started to hurt out of nowhere, it went from mild, to very painful in about 10 minutes. Then the stomach begun to cramp, and the fever got higher and higher.

I’ve been resting for the past 3 days, whilst doing some minor work from home. Today I’m well enough to write a post.

Whenever I’m sick, I crave fruit. Green apples are usually what I go for, but I sent Felix to get me a ton of oranges so I could get that Vitamin C. I’ve been loving making orange juices both for me and Felix, every morning.

Yesterday my eyes stop watering so much, as the fever went down, so I got to start reading ‘The Disaster Artist’. You guys should know by now how Felix and I love ‘The Room’, and and since the movie of this book is coming out later this year, I ordered a copy off of eBay.

As I was home, packages started to come my way. One of which was from The Konjac Sponge, which included these four adorable new facial sponges. Looking forward to try them out!

I’ve also received some goodies from Glossier. I’ve seen this brand all over the internet, featured by the coolest gals out there, and wished for the longest time to be able to try out some of their stuff.

My team sent me these products, and I was instantly happy. Now that I have them, I can understand why so many people like Glossier so much: the packagings are simple yet cool, and the products do exactly what they are supposed to. That coconut lip balm is so great, it’s tempting to eat it.

I’ve also designed some Forest Creatures pop sockets, which are available now on my shop, and I’ve been writing a story for a possible animation project. Is this a spoiler? Maybe I shouldn’t say anything as my team and I just only started to contact animating studios, but hey, I guess sometimes I can let you in on what I’m working on. 😉

I guess the ‘scary’ part is to tell you something and then it may not happen, causing disappointment.

But since we are talking about projects, all the other ones are coming along really well, in October I will be able to show you 3 different ones, which is exciting, and up here Maya is wearing one of the new Amore turtleneck samples. As you can see they have colourful heart embroideries around the neckline.

I’ve recently received all the samples for the winter line and I was so happy with how well everything has turned out, and how incredibly soft everything is. I’m hoping to release the line in early December! (finger crossed that everything goes as planned).
Right now we are working on the second round of samples, as I had to make fitting adjustments.

After being ill this week, unfortunately I don’t have any videos to upload, and both tomorrow and Sunday I’m going to be busy, but hopefully on Monday I will manage to film something!

How did your week go? Doing anything fun this weekend?

For this weekend, I just got a new camera !! It’s the LOMO’INSTANT camera, kind of like the instax, it uses the same film, but you can do a lot of effects with it, like double exposure, different lenses, filters etc. I’m gonna walk around my city and try it out ! 😀

I hope you heal well and that you have a good weekend with the pewdsir. ❤

    Hi Marzia,

So sorry to hear that you’re not feeling well! I hope you get better soon. My week was stressful, but seeing your new additions to the Forest Creatures line on your shop made my day. I already purchased most of what is on there, but absolutely had to grab the new phone accessory! Thank you for inspiring me with your creativity and your kindness.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi Marzia,

I’m really sorry to hear that you are sick! Many of my friends haven’t gone to class in the past few days… I hope you get better very, very soon. My week has been quite stressful being as though I started school two weeks ago. The work is pilling up and the stress is getting to everyone lately.
I was so happy when I saw the new merchandise with the Forest Creatures. You are so creative! I wish I could be like you very much.

    Hope you get better
    Have an awesome weekend x

Just by seeing that turtleneck on Maya, I am in love with the Amore line! It look great!
The pop sockets looks amazing as well. Me and my boyfriend are on Gräsö, my family vacation house. I love it, we study and just chill.

Sorry to hear about your illness. My go-to cure for a sore throat (as taught to me by my granny) is lemon juice+honey+a little bit of cut up onions mixed together and let sit for a while until it forms a smooth liquid (you can’t really taste the onion in it because of the acidity of the lemon and the sugar in the honey). I take a couple of spoonfuls at a time a couple of times a day. I’m sure many people know it, but it’s a great natural cure to try out…that is if you eat honey. I’m not sure if vegan honey would also work as well.

I’ve spent the last couple of days playing “Life is Strange” with my boyfriend after work. It’s not multiplayer, but we play it together by both deciding what option to choose next. It’s been fun, but also very tense. It really feels like I’m affecting someone’s life. I also discovered an older horror/mystery film called “Stir of Echoes” (1999). It stars Kevin Bacon and I think it had an interesting plot, so I’d recommend it. I also would like to recommend a true crime documentary series that I discovered through Emily Boo’s Youtube channel. It’s called “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst” and it talks about a wealthy man who has been linked to several disappearances and deaths of people close to him. When I started watching it, I thought the name sounded familiar and then I remembered that there’s also a movie based on him called “All Good Things” with Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst. So it’s a pretty famous case.

I’m glad you’re feeling better now, Marzia.

Thanks for sharing with us a little bit of this week. Don’t worry about the videos, no need to apologize.

I am from Mexico City and as you may know (or not) we had an earthquake that was really bad so I’ve been looking at ways to help the citizens affected by it and today I went along with my sister to buy stuff for my niece’s 1-year birthday party.

Have a good day and greeting to Pewds and the pugs.

I’ve already begun saving up some of my earnings for the winter line. I purchased a few pieces from the Limone line, and I was very pleased with them. I am very excited for what’s in store for the Amore line.

    Hi Marzia,

It’s great that you were able to post even though you’re not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon.

I’m super excited to see the winter line! Definitely going to drop some cash on your cute, bright clothes to keep me nice and warm this winter without having to become a pale and frizzy human – sweatpant hybrid.

I know you and Felix just got Dogy, but if you are interested in a pretty low maintenance pet that is super cute and fun, Giant Day Geckos are amazing. I was watching mine while I read this post and she reminds me a lot of the vibes you give off in your videos.

Looking forward to your next update..

    Hi Marzia,

I’ve been sick too, with the same symptoms. Last Tuesday, my throat started to become sore, and by nightfall, I couldn’t speak. I was hoarse for many days, and today, finally, I could speak.

Hopefully you get well soon Marzia ❤ Drink lots of water and soup 🙂

The 23rd was my birthday, and I felt like I had a “cootie”, which is another word for a ‘bug” or the flu. But it passed and so I’m alright. I passed the time reading. My favorite author is a Japanese man by the name of Yasunari Kawabata. He won a Nobel prize years ago for a book called “Thousand Cranes”, cranes are birds and in the Japanese culture they symbolize Happiness. It is a good book, and I recommend it highly. I also read recently another book by him called “Beauty and Sadness”, an excellent novel as well. As you like Japanese culture, too, you may want to check these books out as well as other novels of his. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area amongst people of Asian ethnicity.

    Hi Marzia!!!!

I hope you feel better today!! My girlfriend and me are a orange juices lovers too! Even we live in Barcelona, we ordered it from Valencia (my city =P), because they have the best oranges in Spain!!

Good luck with all your projects, we are excited to see what’s coming next!!!

Marzia, I’ve just seen your latest youtube video and you made my childhood memories come flooding back lol! I wanted to share with you the games I used to play, in addition to that, because you asked in your video but I know my comment probably won’t be seen otherwise.
I used to play the following games RELIGIOUSLY as a child.
    – Zoombinis (who have recently revamped it and made it avaiable for my iPad…YAY)
    – Oregon Trail II
    – Barbie Adventure Riding Club (the foal scene at the end of completing everything…OMG AWWWWW)
    – Barbie Super Sports
    – Detective Barbie In the Mystery of the Carnival Cape (my game had a glitch in one level so I never completed it…now I feel a gap in my childhood LOL)

  23. Makayla's World

I hope you feel better. My whole college campus is sick right now! My once 200 person lecture class is not reduced to 75, it was crazy today. I have not gotten sick yet and I have a few exams next week so I hope it does not happen.
    Feel better!

  24. Kate

    Hey Marzia,
So sad that you were feeling sick. I pray that you feel better soon! But being sick, even though it’s hard, is always a great time to catch up on reading. Would you recommend any other books that you have read recently? What are your normal remedies (other than juice, as you said) for when you get sick?
    Much love, Kate
