June 5th, 2016
I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything in days. I’ve missed writing in here.
Now let’s begin again by talking about some new makeup I got!
June has started off very busy for me, that’s why I have been absent for a few days: I had to move out of my flat, get ahead with work, re-new the flat I’m currently living in (on going process) and getting ready to leave soon.
Yes, unfortunately that means that I will be away for another week, but I promise I will update you on my trip as soon as I get back!
For now, let’s make the best of the time we have together and take a look at some wonderful cruelty free makeup products I was sent in the last week or so. They are all so stunning, and I wasn’t asked to review any of them, I just want to share my opinion on them with you. Let’s get started!
GRAV3YARDGIRL X TARTE COSMETICS
I’ve posted a picture about this on my Instagram, but I thought I would go more in dept about it here on my blog.
Bunny and I have been friends for a while now, we usually take a holiday together each year but I’m afraid this time we won’t be able to make it, unfortunately (to be honest, I’m still hoping I will find a month when I’m free enough to make some time and go visit her).
But when I received her makeup products, I felt super happy! She was able to partner up with a huge and wonderful brand and come up with a line that is so gorgeous and unique. As soon as she announced it, I knew I had to have it.
To get into details, she created a makeup palette that included a highlight, blush and bronzer + 9 eyeshadow shades.
The palette has a huge mirror with a sweet inspirational quote and a full size eyeshadow blush.
She also made two lipsticks (liquid to matte) which are incredibly velvety and although they dry and look super matte, they do no dry your lips out whatsoever. She has a cool dark mauve shade, which is my favourite and I’ve been wearing already, and her signature red shade.
Also swatched are her bronzer, blush and highlight. All very pretty, and convenient if you are travelling.
And these are the swatches for the eyeshadows: first 3 colours on the left are the top ones, which appear to be peachy (probably the ones I will get most use out of); the middle ones go from extremely light (in fact you can faintly see the lightest shade on my arm – which I actually think is a good thing; since it matched my skin tone so well it should be the perfect base colour) to very dark, with “Sippy Sippy” being the darkest shade in the palette, and also being my favourite (although I’m not sure I can pull it off yet); and finally the bottom ones, all the way to the right, are more pink and purple shades, which I usually don’t use on my eyes because I feel like they make me look tired, but I can see how they could look wonderful if you had lighter eyes than mine.
Overall, I think she did a great job! The palette design is gorgeous, when you open it, it smells like vanilla, and the lipsticks are the perfect consistency. Well done Bunny! 😉
ALICE IN WONDERLAND BY BEYOND
Look how cute everything is!
You can find these products here.
I was sent two adorable packages of nail polishes. I get my nails done most of the time, but still keep the most beautiful shades in my collection just in case I want to take a break from going to the salon and make them cute myself.
Now, look at the top coat on the blue package. Isn’t it adorable?!
Next is foundation, and I love these compact cushion ones! I used to get them from Etude House, and they are so handy, especially if you are travelling and don’t want to bring that many brushes with you.
Now that summer is approaching, you might want to make sure you apply some SPF. I usually do anyway, but a lower amount, whilst now it’s time to bring out the big guns. This is very light and works as a primer, and when you blend it in, it gives a nice glow to your skin!
Here are foundation (on top) and sun protection (bottom) so you can see how they look like.
Last things from this line are the lipsticks. I do like the clear tube, although the silver print kind of made it too much – I loved the packaging for all the other products, but I do wish these were just clear.
Anyway, I was given 4 shades, and I love how they have a different colour in the centre. At first I thought that was just a decorative choice, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the middle bit actually was not only on top but an actual shade (so it didn’t rub off one applied). When you put on these lipsticks, you get an ombre effect, which is pretty cool!
My favourite shade is the orange one, although the other 3 aren’t so wearable for me.
From right to left: 01, 04, 05, 06.
Out of everything from this line, the compact foundation is my favourite, but I see myself getting a lot of use out of the sunscreen/primer as well!
PS. Thanks so much Britta for always sending me the coolest Korean products.
Now, this whole kit was for sale on June 4th, so I apologise if I’m late and you can’t get the whole thing, but you can still find each product on their website, in case you like anything.
They included 3 skincare products: the chubby one on the left is an amazing gel-like moisturiser and it smells very fruity. I’ve poured it on my face today – not simply applied – because I’m experiencing dry skin again and this has helped a lot, without making me feel even a bit oily. So I already love it!
The middle bottle is Maracuja Oil, and I have plenty of these laying around the house. They are so tiny that I like to keep one in the bathroom, one on my bedside table, one in my makeup collection and so on, because it’s such a great oil.
The big bottle is a cleanser, and I haven’t tried it yet but I’m pretty sure I will like it considering I already love the moisturiser.
Another thing I was excited about was to get new brushes. If you watch my series “Marzia’s Style” on Youtube, you will know that my makeup brushes are from Tarte, and basically the only one I really use for my eyeshadows is a double ended brush from the same brand. Now I received this one, which is very similar, and I’m glad I can give my old one a break (but never ever get rid of it) and also try out that chubby brush for my foundation!
The kit also included a few makeup items: the clay foundation, which is one of my favourites (I have it in many shades just so I can use it during each season and it will match me); the round palette with highlight, blush and contour + 6 neutral shades (which again, I already had); a stunning tube of lipstick, that I wore last night and look beautiful and felt so creamy; a double tube of mascara, which is genius as it has a regular brush on one side and a tiny one for your bottom eyelashes on the other; and a pencil eyeliner with a tiny sponge at the end to smudge it, if you wish.
These are all the swatches. I know, it’s a lot of look at!
On the left we have the foundation, followed by the lipstick and eyeliner (smudged on top); then blush, highlight and contour, and finally all the shades from left to right as in the palette.
We made it! We got through all the makeup!
This is me laying on the floor, exhausted.
